An AU of Stargate Atlantis, set on the London West End, in which the characters are all somehow involved with the world of theatre, whether it be acting or behind the scenes.

Cast

Elizabeth Weir:
A highly intelligent and very talented actress, in high demand for various projects across the world. She holds a degree in Social Politics and International Relations, and was all set to train as a mediator. However, on realising the world of politics was all an elaborate act, in her mid twenties she decided to enter the world of acting that would allow her to become someone else completely without having to pretend to be herself. Elizabeth speaks five languages fluently and is in great demand in Europe, more so than in the States. She unfortunately has the tendency to be a twenty four hour a day actress, just so she doesn’t get hurt. She cares for her friends deeply and would do anything for them. Despite her fame, and what she is worth, Elizabeth is very down to earth and tries to stay out of the media spotlight as much as she can.

John Sheppard:
A talented mathematician who took the path of the USAF cadet simply because it wasn’t expected of him. He was discharged from the academy in his final year, when it became apparent that he had issues with authority and could not be trusted not to follow his own instincts. They suggested he could ‘take direction, but not orders’. As if to spite the officers who ruined the career of his choice, John made it in the acting business to turn their joke around. Graced with a huge chip on his shoulder, he tends to be overly self depreciating and seems to have no faith in his ability whatsoever, despite what others may think.

Carson Beckett:
Though he may hold a medical degree, Carson insisted on making acting his profession of choice shortly after completing his degree. An incident involving his mentor in the hospital he was undertaking training in disillusioned him about the world of medicine, so he decided to take the time he had invested in a theatrical society during his university years more seriously. An old friend of Elizabeth’s, he is perhaps the closest to her out of the group. Currently involved in a romantic relationship with Laura Cadman.

Rodney McKay:
After studying at Oxford University for a year whilst studying for a physics degree, Rodney chose never to return to his home in Canada full-time. Having joined an amateur dramatics society during his time in Oxford, after a friend joked about his social skills, he found he mastered the technical side of the stage with ease, and got greater satisfaction from it than working in a laboratory. Rodney has little to no communication with his family, who see his decision to remain in the UK and to essentially abandon the world of physics as a damning move. He is currently stage manager of one of the most esteemed theatres in London. He has found himself working with Elizabeth on a great number of occasions through the years, and has become her trusted friend.

Teyla Emmagan:
A young American actress trying to make her way in the competitive world of acting. Her role in The Way You Wanted Me was said to be her big break. Orphaned at a young age, she lived with friends of her late parents until she reached adulthood. Her older foster-sister worked in providing voices for animated characters, which caught her interest and drew her to the stage and screen. Having wanted nobody to have to look out for her after the death of her parents, Teyla became a highly skilled fighter, which has greatly helped in her gaining television roles.

Ronon Dex:
Highly skilled in many forms of combat, Ronon is a trained bodyguard and security expert. Not so great with people, he speaks with actions rather than words. He is, however, fiercely loyal, and has the tendency to rush to the defence of those he cares about with little thought. He is currently employed as head of security at a theatre in Central London, where several other members of the group work.

Aiden Ford:
An exuberant young man in his twenties, who has been involved with the stage all his life. Having lost his parents at a very young age, he lived with his grandparents until moving to London. Initially, his grandparents sent him to acting classes as a child to build up his confidence, with amazing results. Aiden loves the stage and almost anything media related. He sees the stage, television and radio more as fun than a way of making money. Has worked with Teyla on several projects in the USA and they have formed a sibling-like relationship.

Laura Cadman:
Freelance PR agent who tries to get employment wherever her partner, Carson Beckett, finds work. Often blunt to the point of rudeness, she is fierce and up for whatever challenges are thrown at her. Good at her job and willing to step on whoever she has to to get the best job done for her employers. Has a form of love-hate relationship with Rodney McKay, after the two of them got stuck in an elevator in the dark together for many hours on end.

Kate Heightmeyer:
Bartender at the Central London theatre in which Rodney, Ronon and Zelenka work. Loves her job and more often doubles as a counsellor and part-time therapist than the bartender she is employed to be. People often seek out her company for the advice they really don’t want to hear. Thankfully, though Kate is witness to events in the theatre that most would not wish to be seen, she knows when to keep quiet and exactly who to direct her comments to.

Radek Zelenka:
Czech stage technician who has had the misfortune to work for Rodney McKay for several years. Excellent at his job and with more patience than most, considering who he has to spend most of his days with. Has a heart of gold and is really quite shy when it comes down to it.

Recurring Characters:

Aimee Weir:
Elizabeth’s younger sister, currently employed at the BBC. She broadcasted a damning documentary concerning her sister and John Sheppard several months back, the night before The Way You Wanted Me opened.

Steven Caldwell:
Director of The Way You Wanted Me.

Simon Wallace:
Elizabeth’s ex and former lead. Their relationship didn’t end so well, which only encouraged her to become more of an actress and less of a person. He doesn’t appear to have let her go entirely though…

Bessie Wyatt:
Young woman in her mid-twenties who is employed to play teen roles most often to get round child labour laws, most recently playing Harmony in The Way You Wanted Me. Currently embarking on a singing career and involved with Aiden Ford.

Jeannie McKay:
Little sister of Rodney McKay. She is not close to her brother and considers him almost a stranger. Works as head of casting for an American television studio.

Eleanor (Ellie) Fay:
British actress playing the part of Galinda, jokingly considered to be Elizabeth's leading lady. Blonde, sweet and hyperactive, Ellie has enough energy to supposedly do the musical as a one woman show.
